The A Club is for teens with Autism, Asperger's, ADHD or Anyone.

 

The A Club launched in January 2023 by Jennifer Owen with her teenage son, Connor. Connor has special needs. A social skills expert once told Jennifer that a grown woman can’t teach a boy how to act like a teenager. Kids need to be around other kids to learn social skills. That gave her an idea. She decided to try to create an environment where he could meet other special teens. 

 

The Owen family goes out twice a month and we invite other special families to join us. We post it here online and we have created an online community + an interactive Facebook group too. We would love it if your family would join us. Our goal is for our kids to meet new people, make some friends, and most importantly, be a part of a group where they can be themselves.

RULES:

#1 - The group was created for teens 13+ but anyone can join us. Your whole family is welcome!

​

#2 - We're not babysitters, so please don't drop your kid off and leave. We need an adult to stick around.

​

#3 - Everyone pays their own way.

 

#4 - No judgment zone. Wear your headphones. Make some noise. Stim like crazy. It's ok. We won't judge!

 

#5 - We're not forcing kids to talk, socialize or get off their phones. It's about kids hanging out together in a safe and encouraging environment. And... just letting them be who they want to be. 

We're not therapists. We can't force friendships. So we are going to get some kids together and add a dash of hope. If you are a special needs family, please join and like our social pages. Please share them with your friends. We hope you can join us!
